The Liver and Weight Loss

As most of you know by now, I am a huge fan of promoting liver health. I cannot stress the importance enough. This one organ is largely responsible for more biochemical functions in your body than anything else. When your liver becomes a toxic warehouse you can forget the opportunity to achieve optimal health. How will you lose weight, how will your skin looks it's best, how will your digestion happen, how will your mood be regulated, and how will your energy systems work properly if your liver is in poor health. Last night while teaching I posed the question to the class of (Do you clean your toilet?) Everybody kinda laughed at the question, however, everybody said yes. I talked about how we are so diligent when it comes to cleaning our toilet. This is the receptacle that catches the toxins from your body and yet we spend more time making sure our toilet is clean vs. how clean our body is. We talked about how embarrassing it would be to have company over and offer and unclean toilet for them to sit on. Nobody in their right mind would do that. Yet, we externalize our cleaning tendencies to make sure our house, car, and toilets are clean because we like a clean environment to live in. How about taking that same care to make sure the body that you are inhabiting is just as clean so that you may enjoy a clean environment.

I view weight loss very similarly. We all have our own challenges and struggles with the perception of our body. We want our bodies to be lean, pristine, living machines. Yet, if you want a high quality of life then we have to keep the life giving organs in our bodies clean. If you want to lose weight then I am all for you doing that. If you want to lose weight and don't think you have to address liver health then you will probably become very discouraged and lose hope. I have told people for years that before you attempt to diet, then please do a cleanse first. Your liver is what helps you to digest fat that you eat and breakdown fat in the body. The higher level of function that you have from your liver, then the better chances of successfully losing and keeping the weight off. If you are currently stuck at a certain weight and exercise and diet have only gotten you so far, look at liver cleansing to give you that boost to get over the hump.

Following is a list of functions in the body that require the liver to do it's job properly so that you can finally achieve the results you have been  looking for: pretty much everything....lol
Energetically the liver plays a large function in supporting proper emotional health as well.

So the big eye opener here is that if you are currently eating a lot of highly refined foods, drinking a lot of sodas or alcohol, taking ANY big pharma drugs, holding excess weight, dealing with depression or a sour mood, having sleep issues, constipation or diarrhea, or feel like your body is in constant chaos, why wait any longer. Cleanse your liver so that you may live.
