Oxytocin - The Trust Hormone

I thought this was an interesting article to share today. Most of the time when I am working with oxytocic effects in the body it has been for childbirth. I usually will use high doses of Red Raspberry capsules to create an oxytocic effect in the body to help start labor or induce contractions. So far, it has been a pretty successful way of helping mothers shooting for their due date or mothers that have gone over and are up against a possible induction at the hospital. However, oxytocin goes beyond just helping pregnant mommas and the newborn connection between momma and baby. In the following article http://www.naturalnews.com/036818_Oxytocin_hormone_trust.html, they discuss where oxytocin is produced and include studies that show how this hormone can help you feel happier.
I think this is great information, the missing piece not in the article though is that if your gut is not in great shape then how will your brain produce these higher levels of oxytocin. I have told everyone for quiet some time that your gut is responsible for the way you feel. If you have a happy gut, you will feel happier. If your gut is inflamed, you will experience the consequences of an unhappy gut: depression, poor assimilation of nutrients, brain fog, constipation, diarrhea, gas, bloating etc...
How are you going to produce these happy chemicals if you gut is not feeling up to snuff?
So, while the idea of an oxytocin spray seems helpful, what is it really correcting? Happiness and trust originate in the gut. Maybe we want to start there first.
