Antibiotics Use on Infants Cause Weight Gain?

I cannot say I am surprised by this study to much. This all comes down to what populates your gut.
If you put your infant, child, teen, or spouse on antibiotic and you do not repopulate the gut with good bacteria, then you are asking for a yeast problem. Yeast have to have sugar to thrive. If you have a yeast overgrowth, then it is obvious that you will crave more sugars. This will lead to more inflammation in the body and then insulin resistance. Once this happens fat is stored in the body at a faster pace than before and then we wonder how come antibiotics could lead to weight gain. There are herbs and supplements to counteract almost every medication out there if you have to rebuild your body. Once we understand "moderation" with everything it easier to strike a balance within the body. The sad part is that if a doctor pushes an antibiotic on a child, they will never tell the parent to rebuild the child's gut with probiotics afterwards. Insanity, I know, however you are informed and you can share this info with your friends and family so we can change things together. http://news.health.com/2012/08/21/antibiotic-use-in-infants-tied-to-overweight-later-study/
