I don't think this is news to any who read this blog. I think it is important to realize that doctors are people that perform a service based on the way they are taught by the pharmaceutical companies. In other words, a sales force (by way of higher education) teaches a service sector job about health. You also have the insurance companies (for profit) that dictate the way in which care is provided. So, in reality we have a normal person attempting to work within in a system that is purposefully restrained. Is it any wonder that mistakes are constant in that type of micro-managed environment?
